12 intrepid iCyclers headed for the Derby Arena on Tuesday November 18th. We had a fantastic ‘Track’ experience thanks to the guidance of Tracey Fletcher (Aka Tiffs mum ) who is an accredited track coach. Tiff was also on hand to advise, support, demonstrate.
Most of us had never been on track before or done it once, so were rather nervous starters. No brakes!! Surely you don’t expect us to get up to the top of that banking?!
Under Tracey’s expert guidance we were soon, whizzing, at least it felt like it, around the track in tight formation! Changing places on a regular basis, climbing high up the banking like we had been doing it for years. It was like riding a bike
Bikes and shoes were provided and for 2 hours we had sole use of the excellent facilities. A real buzz. We even finished with a ‘little race’. Tiff first, the rest nowhere.
What a great way to spend an afternoon. Thanks to Tracey, Tiff and Nick Y for organising. Maybe we can do it again next year?
