Ride length and group speed 

We hold regular club rides with pre-planned routes and coffee stops – mid week and weekends.  The rides are posted on the Events Calendar a minimum of 48 hours in advance. These are pre-dominantly road rides but from time to time, depending on demand, there are Gravel/MTB rides and Zwift sessions.


The regular rides include:

  • Mid-week Wednesday ride at 9am – c45 miles
  • Long Sunday ride at 8.30am– c55 miles to 70 miles or 8am if over 70 miles (over the summer 100 mile rides are added to the calendar)
  • Short Sunday ride 9am – c35 miles to 40 miles

Ride distance might vary from week to week and distances and start times will vary seasonally.

Group speed

There is a choice of groups to ride with:

  • Fast: aimed at those who expect, in normal summer weather, to ride at 19+ mph.
  • Fast-Intermediate: for those aiming at 17 to 19mph
  • Intermediate: for those aiming at 15 to 17 mph
  • Social: for those aiming at 13 to 15 mph.

When you sign up you select your group speed.  You will have visibility of other who have signed up for the ride and in which speed group.

We have a no drop policy on all rides

However, if there is a group riding behind your speed group and you want to drop back to join them, this is allowed but must be communicated to the group leader of you group before you drop back.
